Since July 2020

Whitney returned to the gym after the birth of her first child Jack in July 2020. Since coming back Whitney has lost nearly 60 lbs and maintained her muscle mass!

The beginning

Whitney first joined Farrell’s Ankeny in the Spring of 2014 because her boyfriend (now her husband) made her join with him. Whitney saw great success in her first 10 week session, where she lost 10 pounds and got down to 20% body fat. She continued with the program over the next several years.

“The people at Farrell’s are like a second family to me and have held me accountable throughout my journey.”

Meet Jack

Whitney became a new mom on May 28, 2020 when her son Jack was born - isn’t he a cutie! Whitney was motivated to get back into the gym as soon as her doctor allowed. Whitney lost both her parents at a young age and was focused on getting healthy to ensure she will always be there for Jack.

Set Your Goals and Accomplish Them

Whitney started back at Ankeny Farrell’s in July 2020. Her biggest struggle was finding a way to fit everything into one day - working out, taking care of Jack and doing her job. Her support system helped her find the time she needed to accomplish her goals - and boy did she! Whitney was at her pre-pregnancy weight by January 2021 losing 47 pounds! Since then she has lost another 10 pounds and started to work on building her lean muscle mass.

Find Your Level 10!

Farrell’s always challenges you to find your next challenge - to reach your Level 10. In February Whitney began her next challenge and became an instructor. Becoming a mom changed what was important. She wanted to give back and motivate others the way she had been helped along her journey.

I asked Whitney 3 questions

What would surprise people about your journey?

“I was able to lose 57 pounds without cutting carbs but by making good food choices, getting enough protein and not skipping workouts.”

What was your biggest challenge?

“Just getting out of bed in the morning when all I wanted to do was roll over and go back to sleep. I knew I would feel better if I just got up worked out!”

What’s next for Whitney?

“I am focused on gaining lean muscle so I can keep up with Jack who is becoming a little Hulk!”
